I have toolbars, each with many menus in them. Some menus are torn off, but others are not. There is no way to determine whether a menu has been torn off by looking at the toolbar.

I suggest that the folder icon should automatically change for each torn off menu. Perhaps it should change to the image of a folder with a T on it.

Thanks for considering this.

The Toolbars already change when torn off.

The torn off sub-menus do not have a right arrow (such as the Calendar & Excel Databases) in the JPEG image.

The attached sub menus do have a right arrow (such as Favorites & VBA) in the JPEG image.

That is a very subtle indicator.

What I have done for some of my torn-off menus is change the icon for the menu that appears on the toolbar, using right-click Appearance, Change Icon. It would save me some time if every torn-off menu automatically had the changed icon.

Hi Danmeek;

I would not want my icons changing the icon image (that would be confusing for me) but maybe the icon can stay the same except change in some other way such as it's color, transparency, highlighting or blinking (or some other method so long as the basic icon image does not change its shape).

What do you think?
