Glad to hear you found the cause of the crashes.
Yet I wouldn't anyone recommend to replace the NTUSER.DAT file with the default one after a crash occurs. You should keep in mind that this file contains all the user specific settings for all programs. I'd rather delete the corruped key(s) than remove all my settings
