TLB not loading

Since a while my XP Pro does not wnat to load my True Launch Bar. Only the search Assistant and Quick Launch appear. I have to undo them manually and load TLB. I restored the System to an earlier time and reloaded TLB. No change. Any idea, what to do next?

I do not understand your question. Why is this a small tools question?

Run regedit and open registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Delete values named:
NoSaveSettings
NoCloseDragDropBands
NoMovingBands

If there are no such values let me know.

Try add value DWORD NoSaveSettings and set it into 0 (zero).
Also be sure that your cumputer not in corporate network where admin can disable saving settings of toolbars.

How many times do you restarted then? You must restart two times to allow windows to remember your settings.

I have only NoSaveSettings in the registry and added the NoSaveSettings value 0. But after two reboots nothing happened to rectify the problem

1) Remove NoSaveSettings from registry
2) Restart
3) Open TLB
4) Restart
If TLB not loaded at this point then check again regitry maybe NoSaveSettings is again there.

BTW ernstegon you are using XP Pro then you can use gpedit.msc and change settings into "Non configured" (or Disabled). Look on attached picture.

I did remove NoSaveSettings from the registry.
Restarted, Opened TLB and restarted. TLB did not load and registry at this point has not added NoSaveSettings

Let's try a different approach...
A trawl of MSKB produces this: Menu bar/Toolbar Missing in Windows Explorer and/or Internet Explorer so try it and see.

If that doesn't work, can you supply me with the version information for Windows, IE, and True Launch Bar, and also a list of running processes?
Everest Home Edition (a worthy successor to Aida32 IMHO) can help to get this information if you haven't got a tool to do it with. If you use Everest, send me an export of it's output if you like.

Both work excellent on my computer. It is the toolbar on the bottom of the screen called the "taskbar" that has the problem.
I installed the Everest Home Edition and could send you a report. Wich report profile shall I send to you?

I've been through similar in the past (approx. once every 4-5 months when Windows Rot sets in). Sometimes it works, other times I've been forced to do a repair install.

TLB runs as a process of explorer.exe, that's why it's so easy to add it into Internet Explorers toolbars, etc. I'm thinking along the lines of this being a conflict with something else you have loaded, so a plain-text report from Everest of the Operating System section would really help. Make sure you review and remove your licensing information from the report before you send it to me!

Try to set in into Enabled then Disabled, restart, open TLB, restart. There can be some other registry enries that take effect to this problem.
