I have a menu with some commonly used tools placed on it. I have added a menu to this menu with some of my chess products. Every time I attempt to click on one of the items in the chess submenu, the item will not run. I then have to go back and click sometimes up to three times to get the item to run. Usually it works the second time. All of the main menu items work with just one click. Let me know if you need me to send you anything to assist with this.

By the way, this is a terrific product. You have done a wonderful job with this and I appluad you =D>

Bobby:

You might go to TLB Settings/Mouse

and click on "run when hover" to see how your menus behave
with a mouse hover rather than a "click".........

This might aid in isolating the problem.......

Please try to disable tooltips. I'm not sure but maybe the first click close tips and the second runs shortcut.

Texan,

I rebooted and then changed the setting as suggested. I went to the submenu and held the pointer over one of the submenu items and the menu disappeared as if it was trying to run it. I went back and tried it again and the submenu item worked. It's odd because after it starts working on one of those submenu items then some of the others start working as well...

Yuri,

I switched off the tips, rebooted and tried it. That didn't work either. It's odd that when it works it seems to stay that way for quite awhile.

This machine has a bunch of development software on it (VS 6, VS.NET 2003 and a gob of component libraries). Could something in that mix be creating this behavior?

Please can you send me a backup of your toolbar? I'll try to reproduce this bug with your settings. Also is your TLB registered?

Yuri,

I'm attaching my backup. The product is registered (Robert Clark aka BobbyCFromEP - my online chess handle that I also use in newsgroups and support forums).

I think I may have found some information that may help you. As a test, I installed the program on my new XP Pro laptop:

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2

Shell Version:6.0.2900.2578

Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.2180

TLB version: 3.2.4 beta

Memory: 1 GB

The laptop has been setup with all of the same tools. I copied the toolbar backup and restored it and the submenu items work perfectly on the laptop. Maybe there's something about the shell version... Thanks

Maybe the problem with Win2K only. I've tested TLB Win2K but do not find anything. I'll try to reproduce the bug. BTW maybe you send me the setup.ini from the toolbar folder. This file contain the toolbar settings and I'll try to reproduce the bug with your settings.

Hello,

I have the same problem.
System is Windows 2000 SP4 with TLB version: 3.2.12.

The issue only occurs with folders represented by a link file that ist expanded by TLB.
The first click always leads to an error message like "access denied" or, depending on the type of folder, simply does nothing. Further clicks work as expected. The problem returns after about half a minute of not using the menu.

Right. Now we get it! Some software developers would number their software something like version 3.4 and then 3.5 etc. up to 3.9 and then would follow with 4.0. They may also use sub-versions such as 3.42, 3.45, 3.49, then 3.52 before they released 4.0.

So it is this way - some developers use the second digit to the right of the decimal as a continuation of version numbers like 3.9 then 3.10. Some developers use that second digit as sub version numbers like 3.9, 3.91, 3.92 then perhaps 4.0.

We now understand all! Thank you Dracula for bringing this to light. :!:

When I use Control Panel as menu, and try to click on the any icon at this, I have message "Access to the specified device, path or file is denied".
I have Windows 2000 installed and enough rights to use control panel.
Also all other menus work fine.

Exact system config here:
Windows Version: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4

Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.1106

TLB version: 4.0
