[solved] Cannot "save skin and provider with toolbar"

if I select the real moon plus skin, and then the whether underground moonphase provider, I tick the box "save skin and provider with the toolbar", having selected even just one (I have tried many different combinations) parameter, nothing shows up apart from a black square, and when I go back into properties, it shows that the box has become un-ticked. I have tried to search the forum to see whether this is a common problem, but cannot find any information. I have the current version (updated from the toolbar), and running Windows XP professional, and am using Firefox (for what it's worth, I'm sure that's probably not very important!). I can get basic weather information using the weather forecast plug-in, but would really like the moonphase, sunrise and sunset etc to show up. I have also tried DK moon for weather monitor, with the same problem with the box remaining un-ticked. Any help would be gratefully appreciated, and please forgive me if this has come up before, I have tried to search but probably am having a bit of a blonde day (actually, more like life)

I am also sending a small screen grab of the top menu bar where I had the icon placed, and apologise for not stating initially that it is the weather monitor plugin I am having problems with. And once again, I have updated everything via the TLB "check for updates" option.

Hello Gina and welcome to the TLB Forum!

We will see what is happening and post here soon. Perhaps we can find the problem for you. By the way - have you entered a URL in the URL box? Also do you have an icons folder within the Real Moon Plus folder? In the skin.ini do you have a line near the bottom which reads [wunderground_moon.ini]?

EDIT - Tell us what you wish to show in the plugin (without mouse hover) and perhaps we can create a custom file for you. Right now the Moon Phase and Percent Illuminated can show in the plugin. Did you want the Moonrise/set or Sunrise/set times to appear there? Keep in mind that you can have other information appear upon mouse hover in the tooltip. Let us know what you want to see in the plugin without mouse hover and what you wish in the tooltip upon mouse hover.

Thank you so very much, you are incredibly kind and I am extremely grateful -- I absolutely love this program; I have a progressive muscular weakness which means that my hands have become weaker and weaker, and even the smallest movement now is very tiring, so having this amazing program means that I can still open programs, listen to music, even multitask and still have a little energy left because I have only had to use three or four clicks instead of maybe 10. But the really great thing is, it can be aesthetically pleasing as well, which, frankly, you simply don't get when you have a disability and need "specialist equipment", and I am so mesmerised by the simple fact that as I become weaker, technology grows at such a rate that it actually allows me to maintain my independence with its compensation. Sadly, technology does tend to cost money, and of course that's something I don't get compensated with! But the fact that this programme was such good price and the updates are free... what can I say? It's excellent. Now all I need to do is to save up for a good microphone so that the software can hear me speaking a little easier, and maybe it will stop writing in enigmatic code ;-)

Thank you once again -- and I love the sig by the way. Now, do you think SIS would consider taking on a crip? I'm not much good in the field, but I am great at forensics and usually very good at sussing out PC problems...

So....Gina.....We need to have this clarified -
When you are not hovering your mouse over the plugin do you wish to see the following?

Today Moon Phase
Sunrise
Sunset
Length of Visible Light

It will be very hard to see just in the plugin without using a mouse hover in any case even using any colour for the digits so what we recommend is to have just the moon visible and then to have the four parameters show upon mouse hover. If this is all right with you then you can now use the new provider file posted below for you. Just download it and place it in the TrueLaunchBar\plugins\weathermon\providers folder and say Yes to the overwrite.

If you wish any other modifications then please post here. Also we recommend changing your Tooltips colours to Black background and Green text. These can be changed in Control Panel>Display>Appearance Tab>Tooltips. Also did you have the URL placed in the Properties>URL field?

My hero! Thank you so very, very, very much, it works perfectly! Apart from blathering on like an idiot, that is all I can really say; you have made it work for me, and my only complaint now is that I stupidly didn't write in sooner.

(I saw somewhere that it may be possible to have tidal information displayed, on a separate plug-in, would that be quite easy to do?)

Gina - try this background Icon. It is a bit wider so all the information can show better.

Also for the tidal information what area do you wish to see for the tides? If you wish you may PM us with the location for discretionary purposes.

EDIT - The Tidal Information plugin is nearly complete. Just awaiting your information.

I'm in Christchurch, Dorset -- not too worried about privacy as my huge German Shepherd will eat all stalkers on command ;-)

Please look here for the new plugin you have requested. To find the proper page for your area click on two right arrows to the right of the Properties>Providers box. Then when the page appears in your browser select South and scroll down to select which Christchurch location you desire and use that URL for your URL box in the Properties.

Thank you! Excellent! It may be handy if the information could stay up for longer when the mouse is hovered over the icon, is there a setting I can change? It seems logical that there would be. Or even making it into a clickable menu like with the process viewer - but please don't think I'm being picky, it is great. Now it is easy to work out when to take the dog for a walk without getting sea-damage! Thank you Q

just replying to my own query, I have set the "weather details" to show "on click", which does the job.
