MailMonitor 3.1 64bit and gmail
I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and installed the 64 bit version of TLB and the MailMonitor plugin. MailMonitor will not pop3 my gmail account, even though my mail client can pick up mail using the same settings. I'm using:

incoming server: pop.gmail.com
port: 995
username: xx.yy
authentication: regular (plain text password)
use secure connection: SSL

I've tried with a couple of gmail accounts, bot of which were working with the 32 bit version of MailMonitor.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

...Mike

The right configuration:

incoming server: pop.gmail.com
port: 995
username: xx.yy
authentication: regular (plain text password)
use secure connection: TSL

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply! I set "Use Secure Connection" to TLS and it changed the port to 110, so I went back and changed the port to 995.

This works, but I don't understand why gmail's instructions (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answ ... swer=13287) say to use SSL, and when I use SSL in the Mozilla Thunderbird email client it works fine.

In fact, if I configure Thunderbird the way I have to configure MailMonitor (TLS on port 995) Thunderbird cannot connect to gmail.

I was RIPPING OUT MY HAIR with this problem.

What's strange is that I USED to use SSL and it worked fine. When I backup/restored, it stopped working. I followed Gmail's instructions to my demise (argh!).

No idea why this is happening. Outlook 2007 takes SSL just fine. TLB issue? Oh well, it's fixed for me Smile

Не хотелось создавать отдельную тему.
Не удается поменять иконку плагина, может это как то можно сделать вручную?

Hi, thanks for developing TrueLauncher.

Unfortunately, however, one of the modules I like most about it doesn't work here, that is, the mailmonitor. I did exactly as described above, but could not make it work. So please, tell me: which of TrueLaunchBar file(s) should be set to be filtered properly to connect to the mail server (gmail) through my firewall?

Thanks in advance.

Check the account options one more time. Maybe the port is different.

I've double-checked. No success.

You get the error "Impossible to connect to the server". Maybe the firewall blocks the Windows Explorer to access the Internet. If the mail monitor on the taskbar you have to allow Windows Explorer to access to the Internet. Also some antiviruses can block access to the internet.

Do you have other mail accounts in the Mail Monitor?

I've checked out my firewall log and it doesn't inform anything relating to this. However, I don't allow Windows Explorer to access the internet. So I'll have to quit using this TLB's module.

No. I use only the Gmail account.

Thanks anyway.

Regards.
