Windows 2000 – TLB 1.1.0.9

- I think if user over installs TLB beta version *without* uninstalling previous TLB the hidden plug-in EMAIL NOTIFY is killed and you must reenter your in email information. I am not sure but can other users please check.

Anyway can Mr. Kobets give correct procedure for TLB? Which is correct procedure TLB be over installed or is it better to uninstall and install new version.

Also is it always necessary to reboot computer. Many programs today do not require reboot. Can TLB be made to install without reboot.

Finally – I think there is BUG in BUGS forum – latest posts are now on page 2 not at top in date order. This is confusing.

Do you sure that you make upgrade? May be by mistake you make downgrade (intalling older version over new one).

The correct procedure for upgrade to new version:
1) Run setup.exe and follow screen instuctions

If you want to install older version *without* uninstalling previous I recomend to remove all plugins buttons (like eMail Notify)

That's all. Unfortunately I cannot avoid reboot. It is because of that the Explorer uses files of TLB and setup can replace them on restart only. But if you want to avoid restart you can close TLB and log off/log on, then run setup.exe

The forum sorting bug are corrected, thanks.

Thank you for your prompt reply. No I am careful to only install new program over old program. Perhaps with next version I will check specifically for this problem. I will watch the condition of email plugin carefully after install. In fact I will check both ways - I will overinstall new version and check and also I will uninstall old version and install new version and check. I can do this because I use DISK IMAGE to keep perfect backup of Windows 2000 on each change I make.

I understand your comment about reboot.

I think many bugs were fixed with version 1.1.0.9.
