I thought the thumbnails were rendered with same technology as they are in explorer.exe but then I changed the thumbnail size with tweak ui and it did not have any effects on TLB thumbnails, only the ones in explorer.
That means you are using your own rendering engine for this so it should be easy for you to allow us to change thumbnail sizes, for example like icon sizes... it would be nice, as well as storing thumbnails in special files to speed things up like it does in explorer would be good so it would not need to read the content every time you open a menu.

Uhm, you can change the thumbnail sizes. Right click in the menu, select "Customize Menu...", select "Thumbnails" as the icon size, and enter in a size in the blank to the right of that.

I don't know what's different, but mine only has to load the thumbnails the first time the menu is displayed after a reboot or refresh. Everytime after that is quick. I agree though, that a thumbnail file would speed up that first display.
