Hi all. Smile

There is a small icon in my system tray when I'm connected to the net.
I want to keep it there and not to have to add another one elsewhere. Wink

On "mouse-over" I get the following information:
- Provider
- Speed
- Sent
- Received

The one I'm really missing is "Duration" (I get automatically disconnected every 2 hours).
Is there any way to add this info (registry tweak maybe)?

Thanks in advance.

Just double click the icon to see 'Duration' or right-click status.

You could also just download TLB 'Net Monitor' as it will display your time online in your toolbar.

Thanks for the reply, Eric. Smile

However, I know about the Status window, and would like to avoid using a plugin (as the only missing info is "Duration"). Smile

Well, considering there didn't seem to be another way, I installed netmon. Wink

However, when explorer crashes or I refresh TLB, the "Time online" gets reset. ???
Is there anyway to stop that from happening?

(please, no "Stop explorer from crashing" or "Do not refresh TLB" type answers Smile)

P.S: "mk" ??

P.P.S: are tooltips supposed to appear when the cursor is over the netmon icon (as seen on the netmon page)?

Well, since you disqualified my two responses to your first question, I'll tackle this one:

Quote:P.P.S: are tooltips supposed to appear when the cursor is over the netmon icon (as seen on the netmon page)?

Yes, but only if you have tooltips enabled.

Yuri: in the process of documenting the steps required to check my above statement, I've noticed a bug. Neither of the 2 options for tooltips under other options (show tooltips on menu and tooltip style) seem to have any effect on tooltips whatsoever. On my toolbars that have tooltips disabled, I can't re-enable them, and on menus that have them enabled, I can't turn them off, nor can I change the style. The changes are reflected in the setup.ini file, but they don't show up on the toolbar.

So Denis: if your tooltips aren't working on your tlb, try creating a new toolbar and putting your netmon there, to see if that works.

Doing good, thanks Big Grin How're you?

The site's kind of on hold right now. I lost most of my creative-type files (icons, skins, web sites, etc.) in a recent hard drive crash Sad I'm slowly building up the motivation for an overhaul so that adding stuff will be easier (no more multi-view hovering previews for each and every icon, etc.)

I am pretty sure Net Monitor does not grab any information from your ISPs info collected about online time, etc.

It just sits there and looks for a connection and when a connection is made it starts the timer...
So if your explorer crashed for any reason you would need to drop the connection and reconnect or just wait until your connection drops and you reconnect inorder for the time online displayed by Net Monitor to be true.
(Net Monitor needs to be loaded at time of connection)

Hope that helps Big Grin
