I am running TLB 2.2.0.7 on WinXP Pro. My problem is as follows:

When I choose the "Appearance" setting as "Icons only" or "Icons with text", the menu background color disregards that of the skin or any manuall color I set. In my case I am using the Windows classic theme, so I get a strong blue color no matter what. It's unbearable - I can barely see the icons! However, when I change the "Appearance" setting to "Text menu" or "Multicolumn text menu" the menu backgound color works (uses the color defined by the skin). This happens with any skin I use.

I have searched the FAQ and Forum, but no sight of such a bug, so maybe there's some setting I am not aware of?! Can anyone suggest something I can try. I'd also like to hear if anyone else is able to reproduce this weird behavior.

Other than this i's a fantastic program .. this is what the QuickLaunch of Windows should've been!

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if it's by design. What's happening is that TLB is using the"skin" specified by the OS (meaning your visual style) for the taskbar and applying it to the menus when you select Icons only or Icons with Text. This looks ridiculous on my system, as well. Perhaps in a future version Yuri could force the skins or custom menu colors to override the default behavior in these two modes like they do in the other two?

I'm so relieved that this behavior is reproducible on someone else's machine!!! I am surprised though that it has been picked up by anyone else up until now.

Pay attention that on a Windows 2000 Pro system this weird behavior doesn't happen; all Appearance settings allow the menu background color of the skin to come through. ???

Anyhow, I hope Yuri will take care of it. :p

Well, I posted this before but there was some sort of error and it doesn't seem to have gone through, so I'll try again.

This behaviour only happens with Windows XP, probably due to the fact that XP uses visual styles, which are unique to the OS. Actually, other users have noticed this before, but I'm not sure if/when it will be fixed.

This bug has been around for ages now.

I already mentioned it twice previous and yuri already confirmed it... but its yet to be fixed.

I'd be very cheezed off if it weren't fixed! ??? Seems strange that "Icons only" and "Icons with text" behave differently and would be difficult to fix ... they are practically the same view - the same icons, but one with text and the other without.

The problem in layout. WinXP styles do not support this icons arrangement. But seems I found the way to fix this. Look on attached picture. Selection can look a bit ugly with some WinXP styles but background is fine Big Grin

This is screenshot from next version of TLB:

Well done! The fix in 2.2.0.9 is just what the doctor ordered. By the way, on Win2000 I don't get the weird "selection" artifact you show in the screenshot. It looks perfectly fine on my system.
Thanks! Big Grin
