I love the virtual folders feature but have 2 issues with them that I would like to see resolved somehow:

1) A couple of my VF's are network shares. One is to the root of a Win2K server and sometimes when my mouse hovers too long over the I386 directory I have a long wait while the taskbar loads a vast directory listing. I appreciate that nothing can be done to make the directory load quicker, but it would be nice if it happened in a background thread so that it didn't hang the taskbar while it is happening.

2) I use TLB on my laptop. This means that sometimes the network drive to which a VF corresponds is not available and then later (because I use Hibernate a lot) it is.

What this leads to is the occasional situation where I bring the system back up on the network but the VF doesn't seem to see the network drive. Even if I open it in explorer the VF still doesn't refresh.

I would either like the VF to re-verify network shortcuts each time it uses them, or for TLB to provide a convenient means to refresh the VFs.

In any case TLB is an excellent product and well worth the money.

Regards,

matt.

Yes, I want to make loading of files from VF in background. I also plan to make the same thing with icons (the most time of loading is extracting icons). So you will see this feature soon.
Now about lost folders: You can use refresh feature (right click on empty space of TLB and select Refresh). This feature reloads all folders in True Launch Bar. May be it is necessary to make the same feature for single folder (not for all toolbar)?

Glad to hear you have the threading in mind already.

I hadn't seen the refresh option since I don't leave empty space on my toolbar! I can live with this for now, but as you mention, I would prefer a refresh option on the folder icon itself - its more logically where I would look for it.

Thanks,

matt

For the first time I've created a network virtual folder in my TLB, which redirects to the "My Documents" folder. After logging in, the menu doesn't expand. However, when choosing refresh, the menu is expandable. I really wish this would happen automatically ???
Kind regards,
Cornelis
