That's not a sign, but the default toolbar extender. You don't want to see that arrow anyway, because then you're missing the power (or point) of TLB entirely.
Right-click the taskbar and uncheck 'Lock the Taskbar'. Then drag the taskbar aside so you actually see more of the True Launch Bar
And if you really prefer to have a single button that opens a toolbar, then you can create a TLB menu. You can have multiple menu's on a single toolbar and you can change the icon or text of that button
