Yes. Active Desktop is the part of the Internet Explorer 4.x. If you have IE 5.5 you can uninstall IE 5.5, install IE 4.x with Active Desktop and then upgrade it into IE 5.5 again.
There one problem may be if you have been removed uninstall information of IE 5.5 - You cannot uninstall IE 5.5 in this case
I have some information how to install Active Desktop without IE4 but this is very dangerous operaion. I do not want to publish it on this place. E-Mail me if you want.
