I must admit I haven't tried it myself with the LiveUpdate... I just know that the DLL's must be unused before they can be replaced by a new version and that this can be achieved by killing explorer.exe.
Maybe the LiveUpdate always assumes TLB is running (which seems logical), and therefore doesn't even attempt to replace the DLL's immediately, but simply schedules this task for next reboot... Just guessing though...
Next time I'll monitor file and registry access to see what's happening... hey, I don't like this reboot either
