Winamp 5.04* gets my vote for all round excellence, but I only use it on XP.
For my Win2K box I have to say that the latest Winamp 2 is far better. As you're on 98, I'd say use Winamp 2.
Incidentally Yuri, I also use Quintessential Player and would love to see support for it in Media Control. It's got some handy bulk tag editing built in, good plugins, etc.
