Is there a way to change the length of time the weather monitor popup stays visible. I've tried the tips interval in the TLB options to no avail.

Can you tell us the version numbers for TLB and WM that you are using? And define what you mean by "popup"? Do you mean the tooltip, or the menu-like display?

As per FAQ (sorry):

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
Shell Version:6.0.2800.1233
Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.1106
TLB version: 2.2.0.18
WM: 1.3.0.0
MM: 1.9.9.0
WF: 1.0.0.0

By "popup" I mean the item containing the data parsed from the target web page that appears when you hover over the WM.

Hello zzappster

Have you tried to right-click on an empty spot on the True Launch Bar and selecting TLB settings...and then Mouse? There are many more length of popup settings there.

If you go to the "Tips" section in TLB settings and increase the "Close tip" value, your tooltips will stay up longer. If you set this value to 0, the tips will stay up untill you move the mouse elsewhere or click. I've verified this on my system, so it should work on yours.
WinXP Pro (5.1.2600) SP1 TLB 3.0 IE 6.0.2800.1106 Shell 6.0.2800.1106
Command Line 3.3.0.0 Process Viewer 2.0.0.0 Calculator 1.0.0.0
Weather Forecast 1.0.0.0 Media Control 4.0.0.0 Volume Control 2.1.0.0
Net Monitor 1.4.0.0 Up Time 2.1.0.0 System Monitor 2.4.0.0
Drive Space 2.3.0.0 Mail Monitor 1.9.9.0 TLB Clock 1.3.0.0

QSection:

I checked it out. None of the mouse options are applicable in this case.

Shapeshifter:

I had previously tried the tooltip settings you suggest. Alas, even the zero setting had no success.

I guess we may not be talking about tooltips here. Maybe I'm explaining it wrong so here's some pictures.

Thr first snap is when I hover over the WM. The second is after 5 seconds elapse.

Yes, that's a tooltip... and a huge one Wink
You're not moving your mouse, are you? Because that will always close the tooltip.
Have you tried setting the 'Close tip' value to 1000, and see if the tooltip then closes after 1 second instead of 5 seconds? I've verified it here, and it works fine...

Haha, so this was an unplanned feature? Smile I hope you leave it in, because it can be very useful...

This is tooltips. Times for tooltips must be configured via Tips tab as shapeshifter say. How about tips over other buttons? They disappear after 5 sec too? Can you backup toolbar and send it to support@tsoftcentral.com I'll try to reproduce this bug on your configuration.

Yuri:

Other tooltips behave as expected when the tooltip time is changed, just not the WM tooltip. Requested info sent via email.

Dracula:

Nope...not moving the mouse. Other tooltips behave as expected when the tooltip time is changed, just not the WM tooltip.

Shapeshifter:

The zero second tooltip time works for other tooltips, just not the WM tooltip.

zzappster cannot reproduce Sad even with your data. I'll try to find something in code.

I built a new toolbar containing a menu housing the WM. Lo and behold, it's working as expected.

What I noticed about the WM that did not function as expected was that it was not honouring some of the "Tips" settings. It did not honour the style if I changed it to ballon nor the "close tip" interval nor the "max tips width". It did honour the "show icon on tips".

Strangeness.
