After installing v3.1 of TLB the icons in the launch bar are *extremely* slow in loading: icon by icon, with a wait in between.

Before v3.1. it was a snap that all icons were "presented".

I do remember True LB making use of the ShellIconCache in C:\Windows then. Has that been disabled? I cann' t find a way to link the icons on the TLB with the windows shell cache.

Thanks in advance for your reply !

I have found this also, I have a 160 icons spread over 11 menu's I have found that if you create a folder for your shortcuts/icons and then make the menu as a virtual folder loading is faster although the first time it loads it's a bit slow but those menus not being used don't load thus cutting down the time.

About a 100.

I use v 1.2.7 on another machine and that works fine with " use system icon cache ". There TLB will show the icons in 2 'eruptions' within a couple of seconds. On the other system I can go downstairs, take a bath or have some coffee. And read the newspaper. And then have a look if TLB has passed the first row of icons yet ...

TLB v3.1 is a no-no for me, I'm afraid ...

What antivirus do you use? On the starting windows loads too many files and most antiviruses can slowdown the loading of TLB. The one of the solutions is using virtual folders. The content of VF's TLB loads on the first opening.

I was experiencing the same slow loading problems, and it turned out to be VMWare... since I don't use it that often I disabled the services and now it's fast again... so make sure it really is TLB that is the cause, rather than the victim Smile
