I've been using the Weather Monitor plug-in for some time, and I haven't had a problem before, but today, the temperature data displayed is totally wrong. It says that it is 89 degreed F today in New York City, when it is actually 44 degrees. If I hover the cursor on top of the WM icon, it appears that all of the data is correct other than temperature, and if I click on the icon it takes me to the Weather Underground page for my zip code and all the information there agrees with what I get when I hover over the icon EXCEPT the temperature. Get Weather Now refreshes the other data, but the temperature is still off. Any ideas what is wrong?
Regards,

Robert

In Weather Monitor's preferences, try a different setting for temperature units (Celsius of Fahrenheit), because maybe it tries to perform an erratic conversion.

Furthermore you might want to take a look at the Weather Forecast plugin, which is also installable from the Component Manager. Setting up this plugin is extremely simple and works with large and small cities around the world. I think even New York City is supported Wink

Changing to Centigrade merely gives the same erroneous temperature but in Centigrade instead of Fahrenheit. Since I've posted this, I've noticed that the temperature shown in Weather Monitor never changes, but remains stuck at 89F 31C all the time. The other parameters appear to get updated correctly. I tried Weather Forecast, and it has the benefit of actually working, but I don't care for teh two available skins, and I couldn't find any additional skins on the site.

Robert

Just as an experiment can you try another city for your weather and post the results? Perhaps that one weather site is stuck.

OK, I changed my city from New York to Los Angeles, and now it says that the temperature is 174 degrees F. Glad I'm not there!

Now we need to call in the Weather Monitor plugin experts! Hopefully one of them will see this soon. Also you may read this as it probably has the answer at least on why this is happening. Either one needs to change/update the provider file from time to time or use a different weather service that is more constant which entails a different provider file. Perhaps someone will volunteer to write one for you if they have a little time.

Yea what your seeing is the temp is being taken from teh Altitude. The link Q provied has a newer INI file that fixes that issue.

There is also another ini file for the mobil page that shouldnt change much as its formatted for phones and pda access and there for shoudl be a bit more stable.
