Windows Vista Support

Stand alone TLB launches & runs at the top of the screen... Still not getting the modified taskbar though...

Any logs/info you can use?

Yep I agree with Damien... I installed V4 TLB on Vista Pre-RC1 5536 and when I pick a bar from the right click menu on the taskbar and I select "True Launch Bar" nothing happens anymore.

Quick circle icon (hourglass) & then nothing...

I've rebooted to see if that makes it show and I've also tried switching on all the other Toolbar Menu's just in case their's been a mix-up with the installation, but nothing...

Any ideas folks ???

I've installed v4.0 with 5536 pre-RC1 build of Vista and everything with it is functioning normally and as expected. NO PROBLEMS

I can't to reproduce this bug too. Maybe there are the same problems as with XP. Try to read this topic

Yuri, Those folks with the problems, perhaps the problem lies in how they installed it. I installed the 3.2 version first and then 4.0. Maybe they are just attempting an install of 4.0 and am getting the error? Just a suggestion? Still, having no problem with True Launch Bar...great job!

Well Stroute your idea for installing TLB 3.2 first worked !! I had as you suspected installed TLB 4 straightaway with no other version installed, and that's when it didn't worked.
I tried what you said and removed TLB 4 first, then removed the TLB directory that was still left in the "Program Files" directory, then installed TLB 3.2. Activated the Toolbar as per normal and there it was. Then deactivated the TLB Toolbar and installed TLB 4 and again activated the Toolbar, and there it was... TLB V4 !! :-)

I have tried this with the only old version of 3.2 TLB via Google I can see which is 3.2 v 14 RC2... does NOT work !
Where can I get a version of 3.2 prior to loading 4.0 that DOES work ?
Any help would be appreciated

I have the same problem with Vista RC1, the MSI does not work either (says something about tlb.dll not being able to register). Doing regsvr32 in an administrative command prompt does not work either.

If I install 3.2 and then 4.0 then it seem to work, (but the tlb.dll still will not register using regsvr32).

I have an interesting experience with this - i installed RC1 5600 AS AN UPGRADE over XP, and TLB ran fine, as it was already installed.

i just reinstalled Vista 5600 AS A FRESH INSTALL and then tried to install TLB and i can't get it to run...

thought Yuri would find something interesting with that. At least i know that it CAN RUN on 5600.


i'm hoping someone has found a solution to this?

I think I've found the way to run TLB 4.0 without installing 3.2

Attached file writes one registry entry that allow TLB. Please let me know how this works.
