Hi,

How about a preference that automatically removes ".exe" from all link names?

I am constantly going into:

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Menu

and renaming things like "ConTEXT.exe.lnk" to "ConTEXT.lnk"

This would be a nice timesaver for me.

Thanks for the awesome app! Keep up the great work!

Having .exe in the link name does not effect the lnk in any way. I can't see the value in adding a comand to remove it. Boy you must be a real neat and tidy kind of guy <grin>

You do not need go anywhere. Right-Click on the button and select Rename This is more quickly. But I'll think about removing extention from name Smile

To answer both replies at once:

Hello Doug,

Not "it", but "all."

I think most people who use interface customization apps are looking for a bit more neatness/efficiency from their OS (else, why use them?)

Seems a bit redundant to name things you put in a launch menu ".exe" no?

Hello Yuri,

Thanks for the quick response.

Appreciate your consideration of this feature.
To me, it would make the menus much cleaner.
As I mentioned above, seems silly to name things you are going to launch ".exe" (at least to me) & I would
rather have the true launch take care of this for me, rather than the reverese.

Thanks,

Rich
