Has anybody tested TLB on W8-beta?
Any issues or bugs?

I thought so, but although I didn't like the new Metro interface, is it compatible with it? I mean can we create TLB menus as a Metro app?

No, TLB works on the desktop only.

Not working for me at all on Win 8 Consumer Preview 8250.

When i try to install any version of TLB my computer hangs about half way through the install at...

Execute: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\Regsv32.exe" /s "C:\Program Files\Truelaunchbar\tlb.dll"

Any ideas how to get around this?

I have tried Windows compatibility mode for both Win 7 and WinXP but same problem.

I would REALLY LOVE to get TLB working in Win8 as not having a true menu system is driving me nuts.

As Win 8 has no menu system or Start Menu I see a real advantage for TLB with this operating system as all the other so-called Start menu options from Stardock and others leave me cold. I have tried three other Start menus from others and they all totally fail in comparison to my beloved TLB.

Thanks;
Doc

Do you use 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8?

Try to kill regsvr32.exe via the taskmanager. Then try to execute the command from the command line:

Code:
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\Regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Truelaunchbar\tlb.dll"

Is there any error?

Regsvr32.exe was not running.

Did get an error when entering the sting in the Command Prompt...

Blush Sorry, forgot to note: you have to run regsvr32 as administrator.

I am the Administrator (a single non-networked home computer).

Otherwise how do I do this?

UAC prevent to run applications as administrator. Try this:

1. Right-click the desktop
2. Select New->Shortcut
3. Type regsvr32 and click Next, then Finish
4. Right-click the regsvr32 shortcut on the desktop and select Properties
5. On the Shortcut tab click "Advanced button
6. Turn on "Run as administrator" option. Press OK, and OK

Now open the folder C:\Program Files\TrueLaunchBar, drag the tlb.dll and drop it on created shortcut. Windows will ask you for permisions and then run the regsvr with the tlb.dll path as parameter.

Did as requested; all went fine until I dropped the tlb.dll on the shortcut... same problem as when I tried to install TLb; the hourglass never went away and the computer did a hard hang up and had to be re-booted.

Any more ideas?

Thanks;

Same results for 5.62 beta and 5.63 beta. No anti-virus software other than what comes with Win 8.
