I often noticed explorer.exe suddenly using up around 20% CPU time, which I find too much. If I closed the TLB toolbar, the CPU usage dropped back to 0%.
Now today I discovered which plugin was causing it: I had launched Winamp and closed it, but the Winamp plugin was still very busy. When hiding the Winamp plugin the CPU usage dropped back to normal, and after restoring it went back up to 20% CPU usage.
What is the plugin exactly doing? Can you reproduce this behaviour? ???
[Win2k SP3, TLB 2.2, Winamp Control plugin 2.6, Winamp 2.91]
(Oh and what about a "Show hidden --> All" menu option, very handy when you want to restore all hidden items)
