Yes I know about this problem. During some days I'll update MM to support GMAIL.

I set the port to 995 and tried both reg and MD5 for authentification, but it still doesn't work ...

Can't get it to work with GMail ... is 1.11 supposed to ?

Turn on the "Use secure connection (SSL)" option. Also I recommend to increase timeout value.

Have you verified in your Gmail options (in the web interface) that POP3 is indeed enabled for your account? It seems that this is not automatically the case for all Gmail accounts at once... It took several weeks before my account was accessible with POP3...

Also, have you been able to retrieve your Gmail messages with any other program (eg. Outlook Express)?

The settings you're using are correct (with plaintext password). Maybe you'd better suspend the checking for now and try again later...
