I downloaded True Launch Bar v1.1.0.9 beta yesterday to try it out for the first time. I like the program, but I did notice a bug that I thought I would report (I apologize if this has already been reported). I am using Windows 98SE. My "Start Bar" is two rows high, with True Launch Bar on the lower row. I have created a couple of menus and populated them with shortcuts. Since there's only two menus, that leaves a lot of "white space" to the right of them on the row. I also have my settings set to automatically pop up the menus when I move my mouse over them. When a mouse is moved over them the menus pop up, but they don't go away unless you click somewhere else (hmmm... autoclose... a possible enhancement idea?). So, the problem occurs when I move my mouse over a menu, it pops up and then I click anywhere else on the True Launch Bar row (like in the "white space" area). It then gives me a "performed illegal operation" message. Here's what's listed under Details:

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module TLB.DLL at 017f:00d0a9c0.

I hope this is enough information. If I haven't been clear on something, please let me know and I'll try to explain it again. Thanks!

I had to remove true launch bar 1.1.0.9 because it was killing my computer resources, I might have my pc running for 6-10 hours and all of a sudden I was out of resources,, stuff going black windows not showing up..

I have never had a problem before and saddens me that I have a problem and had to uninstall true launch bar.

I am going to reinstall 1.1.0.8 tomorrow, as that one
and all before it seem to work fine.

Hopefully yuri can fix this problem.. Wink

Yes. Agree with Eric. 1.9 depletes resources and after a few hours Windows start acting up. On my notebook (Dell 600 - 750Mhz-win2000) I fell back to 1.8 and everything runs fine.

On the other hand I am running TLB 1.9 on my big dual Xeon Win2000 desktop with no problems.

Suggestions.

- Lets have that system information tab in True Launch Bar so we can report our system status more accurately.

- how about a system resource meter in the Beta version so we can check on that.

- Are there any other debug tools we can use?

The problem the Torment point is found and will be fixed in the next version. The auto close feature is accepted.
System information tab will comes with next version.
The system resource meter...

in the next version as plugin.

The best debug tool is the Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC). Click "Processes" tab and find explorer.exe in the "Image Name" column so you can see the memory usage of explorer.exe and TLB. Try also to view other columns (View->Select Columns):
- GDI Objects
- Handle Count
- User Objects
Some of this values must to grow too much for explorer.exe in case of resource leaks. Can you test all this values and give me results?

Are you asking us to reinstal the death trap known as v 1.1.0.9 beta? (hehe)

I will if you would like, just making sure you wan't that...
Before I drag my PC through the horrors again.. Smile

I would do anything to better True Launch Bar!
(hehe)

PS: Also on one of my PC's at work..
I install 1.1.0.9 and now when I goto drag
from a menu folder.. to the quick launch
(out of folder to the bar itself) System FREEZE, and i need to control alt del, to reboot..... -=(

Ok dropping back to 1.1.0.8 did not help... something stuck around, I notice you could still do show title/etc...

Well I have installed 1.1.0.4 and all has been very well...

Explorer.exe is back to 0 CPU
instead of 80+ with 1.1.0.8+9

-=p

Probly ganna goto 1.1.0.6 later

80% cpu usage ??? Thank you, Eric. Can you say what Virtual Folders do you use?

one tip: if you want downgrade TLB (install older version), close TLB and delete all tlbdata files from Quick Launch folder.

Yea it was jumping around 72-93 CPU... hehe
normal its about 0 - maybe jumps up and down from 0-4 after I have windows up for a day or so.....
(I mean yes it jumps aroung when you open and close programs or are using them, but normal just sitting there its 0-3, but with 1.1.0.9 it was 72-93...)

I only use a couple Virtual Folders,
like Control Panel/my MP3 Folder, and maybe 2 more..

Thanks Yuri! You've got a great product going! Smile

BTW, I haven't had any of the "draining resources" problem that some of the others metioned. In fact, I don't think I've had ANY other problems with it.
