It seems with out warning or with outany pattern Launch bar forces explorer task bar to lock up and become un responsive. The fix is to ctrl-alt-del and kill explorer.exe and manually launch it again then it works again until it decides to freeze again.

My Puter Stats
MicroShaft WinBlows 2000 - Service Pack 3
Shell Ver. 5.0.3502.5436
MicroShaft Internet Exploiter Ver. 6.0.2800.1106
AMD 1700+
512 PC 2100 DDR
ATI Radeon 7500 64M DDR
304 GB Storage
I think I included all the info you wanted / needed.

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Personal version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
Shell Version:6.0.2800.1145
Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.1106
AMD XP 1800+
512DDR
GF4Ti 4200
TLB version: 2.2

This promblem seems to happen frequently with me to, it happens when accessing the menus very quickly, usually it just seems to be without any reason, it happens when doing some of the things usually are stable, for some time I thought my PC was damaged or something then everything pointed at TLB as the problems vent away as I got rid of TLB. Still I use TLB and can't live without it but it's rather annoying losing all explorer windows when it restarts. If I don't restart explorer.exe it get's unfrozen about the time I come back from the toilet.

At the main TLB menu I use volume control, VDesktopM, drive space. and some collopsable items but the problem began before installing them and has not got any worse after I got them.

Yes the problem exists. I've reproduced the locking, but for some seconds only and only under Windows XP. Try to fix the problem in the next version.

One more note about lockup. If active application hangs (or looks like hang - do some work and do not handle messages from keyboard and mouse) and you try to open any menu on TLB you will got lockup untill application will be killed or ends its long work.

Try to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Lately this occured for me too more often again. (running W2K, SP2)

I have five folders on my truelaunchbar, one of them a virtual folder containing my drives. All folders use "Auto Popup" feature.

Observations:
- i´m under the impression this happens when i come over the virtual folder.
- it happens in my case when i hover over tlb
(nothing special open otherwise i.e. just a browser ...)
- tried to force lockups with no luck by extreme moving over tlb but nothing happened
- tried to put my cd-drives under use when trying to force it (i.e. burning a cd while reading from the other drive, insert/remove cd from drive) but to no good

(oops just saw i´m also still running 2.0 like michael_myers ... will update right away and see if it changes but when i look at Icecaveman´s post i don´t expect it to) Smile
regards,
Bender

Please send me setup.ini from toolbar folder (right-click on empty space of toolbar and select "Open" menu item). I'll try to reproduce the bug with your settings.

I am having the same problem but it only occurs when I am switching between virtual desktops. I get a C++ error in explorer then it hangs and the task bar become unresponsive. I am using Windows 2000. It only seems to happen when I use the virtual desktop plugin. When I turn that off all is well.

Yuri,
I have more than one TLB, which setup.ini do I have to send, one or all?

Accessory: I don't have the "Open" menu item on my system (Win XP Home SP1).
Thanks

If you have lock-up when move mouse over any menu or toolbar that send only one setup.ini for buggy toolbar.

right-click on EMPTY SPACE of toolbar. Also be sure that your explorer can show hidden files (Folder Options).

right-click on EMPTY SPACE of toolbar. Also be sure that your explorer can show hidden files (Folder Options).

If you have trouble finding empty space (like I do), just unlock your taskbar (if you haven't already done so), and right click TLB's slider.

Open toolbar folder. You can do this using this instructions:
1) Open Quick Launch
2) Right-click on empty space of Quick Launch and select Open

the toolbar folder will be opened. Be sure that explorer can show hidden files. You can set this option in the Folder Options. Now delete all files named "tlbdata" and setup.ini from this folder and all subfolders. Try to open True Launch Bar.

If error appear again try to backup all shortcuts from toolbar folder. Then delete all shortcuts from toolbar folder. Try to open TLB again. If TLB opens fine (it will be empty) add shortcuts one by one using drag&drop. There can be problem with some of shortcuts. If you find the buggy shortcut please send it to me.

If you still have problems please let me know.

Yes, I have lock-up over any... but as I told in previous message this happens only sometimes with no apparent rule.
So here is setu.ini file
