We update our forum. Currently new forum is in testing. You can access it here.

Please test this new forum. All messages from that forum will be deleted in the final release so test it as much as possible. We are waiting for your opinion.

Thanks.

This is great Yuri, I really like phpBB, especially since I'm running my own forum.

Did you install any mods here except for the country flag?

Hmm, ###### question. When browser the new forum, I also saw the attachment mod installed. Really great!
Kind regards,
Cornelis

Every forum supports png format, it's just an image format which is uploaded the same way as every format. Whether it is allowed is another matter, but the allowed extensions can be configured. And of course it's up to the browser to display it correctly...

On the other hand, png was not even allowed on ikonboard, so it would never been a step backwards :p

In my opinion not the best forum software, but it's a good step forward and free, so you won't hear me complaining Smile

Unfortunately not. Dynamic images in signatures where removed in phpBB 2.0.8 as a security measure. ???

See this thread on the phpBB community forum for full details. Smile

A false sense of security though. I used the old "make the other end think it's a normal image" trick before, so for anyone who really wants to do damage it's just as easy... all you need is a webserver and enough access to make an alias...

Taking steps to stop script kiddies spoiling your fun is about as much as anyone can do. False security is assuming that most of these exploits are not going to happen to you. A determined individual with enough resources is going to be able break in to anything. Fortunately these people are few and far between.

There are going to be changes because of the forum upgrade which is why we thought it best to test it first. I'm sorry we will lose some functionality, but we stand to gain a whole lot more. Big Grin

Hi,

phpBB 2.0.11 has been out for a while, I suggest an update of this forum to protect ourselves from certain vulnerabilities. See this post and this post on the phpbb board.
Kind regards,
Cornelis

Thank you. I've added fixes by hand to prevent hacking. New version of forum will be installed soon.
